Zeeland. The land of my childhood. Back when Zeeland was pristine and inexpensive, my family and I spent every spring and fall vacation there.
Just a three-hour drive from the hellish metropolitan areas of our German home, I feverishly awaited our days in Zeeland, year in and year out. The only ones in freedom that were there.
My creepy childhood memories aside, Zeeland is still a dog`s dream today. At least where tourism has not yet hit too hard and in the off-season.
Those who appreciate the desolation in the mists, do as we do and explore this unique winterwonderland in the wintermonths, book a bungalow with sauna, right on the beach and let the icy North Sea air breeze the nose and the frosty spray rinse the bare feet and paws.
