Before I could choose a title for this blog post, I first had to find out which counties in the south of England we were actually travelling through.
After spending three whole months in Cornwall and planning our onward journey across Wales up to the north of Scotland, my inner map was still missing a few important highlights of the deep south of England that I didn’t have the heart to carelessly watch pass by the window of our van.
These included the enchanting Jurassic Coast in Dorset, the wondrous Stonehenge in Wiltshire, the rugged hiking wonderland of Cheddar Gorge in Somerset and the historic gem of Bath in the same county.
And so we booked into the cosy guesthouse The Old Parsonage in Farrington Gurney for a fortnight, were warmly welcomed by our hosts and, after a few days of relaxing laps of the surrounding fields, looked forward to new adventures just 300 pedal strokes apart.
